One of my 2013 style resolutions is to wear more interesting clothes/ be a little riskier. Another one is to shop from the pieces I already have in my own closet. I would say, in regards to this outfit, I did OK on the first and semi-succeeded/semi-failed on the second. Let me explain:

Like many other gals I know, sometimes I feel the need to hide new purchases from my man, if only just to avoid annoying questions and skeptical facial expressions. Unfortunately for me, this task is also virtually impossible since my boyfriend shoots all my outfits. Nonetheless, I thought I’d try to sneak this coat past him anyway by throwing it on as I shimmied out the door this past weekend. “What the….” I heard him say as he followed me out to brunch. Ok, so my attempt at hiding new statement outerwear from him totally failed, but that didn’t mean I was to give up trying. So instead of responding to his comment, I simply asked him “Hey, do you like my boots?”  At his nod, I smugly replied “Thats right, I’ve had them for seven years.”
