It's been raining nonstop in New York for the past four days. Every day my iPhone weather app gives me this ambiguous looking "partly cloudy" graphic (with a sun in it!) promising that the sky would clear up by the early afternoon. Every day, that has, in fact, not been the case. So finally, this morning, I figured that today wasn't going to be any different and broke out my cashmere sweater poncho and new Hunter rain boots for the first time and commuted to the office looking as a gal should in 50 degree, rainy weather. Two hours later, the sun came out in all it's glory and the weather warmed up 20 degrees. Just like that, my rainy-chic outfit looked out of place and felt too hot and uncomfortable. As my friend Jessica would say, "that's a cool feeling."

On the bright side (ha!), at least I wasn't wearing my usual bright green Kermit-the-Frog style wellies today, but instead this chic equestrian style from Hunter. If you don't look too closely, you wouldn't even be able to tell that I spent the entire afternoon walking around in the sun...in rubber boots.
